What do you currently do?
I am the MD and Founder of G’NOSH, with a focus on the creative end of the business concentrating on innovation, NPD and business development to drive real business growth. I am fortunate to have an infrastructure of operational support to help with logistics and ops that enables me to focus on the right end of the business
What is your inspiration in the business?
Simply put: innovation drives growth. My inspiration comes from modern eating – fast, health-conscious foods that deliver on premium ingredients. I keep a keen eye on food trends and play with new ingredients – creating cracking new products that consumers will love
Who do you admire?
In the spirit of ‘modern eating’ and keeping authentic to that in both the brand and my lifestyle. I love Bill Granger and his ethos
Looking back, are there things you would have done differently?
Yes, absolutely. In particular, I would get a better grip on operational challenges as they can drown you and take your focus away from innovating.
What defines your way of doing business?
What advice would you give to someone just starting out?
1) Have brilliant basics, i.e. a great product and brand personality
2) Have a compelling point of difference that will set you apart and, for food start-ups, be a challenger to supermarket own-label
3) Be prepared for the highs and lows
