Playtech launches first-of-its-kind omni-channel game

Following two years of serious investment and technical development, the leading gaming company expects to see the flag ship game – Tiki Paradise – provide a very different, and potentially much more rewarding player experience. It’s a very interesting development and one which only a major company such as Playtech could likely have pulled off.

What Is Omni-Channel Gaming?

Thanks to Playtech’s games featuring on so many formats (mobile, online, retail) – why not add a reward system for players enjoying a game across platforms? Basically this means that players gain access to enhanced reward systems when playing a game in different ways. For example a person could have a few spins on Tiki Paradise on their mobile, a couple in a partner betting shop (one of the 1800 Coral betting shops) and via the web on a PC/laptop. The key is that regardless of which platform is used, they are all tethered to one single account – identified via a connect card in retail settings.

What Are The Rewards For The Player?

The clear idea being omni-channel gaming is to encourage people to enjoy a great game (more below) across formats. In theory this will encourage those used to the bookies to get started with the online experience to garner greater bonuses, and those who play exclusively online to support their local betting shops. Clearly should this project work out successfully then it could be a major boon for all aspects of the gambling industry. Yet what’s in it for the players?

Truth is that players who choose to play Tiki Paradise as intended will potentially face great bonuses – and remember that there’s no low stake limit. Players in bricks and mortar betting shops need to play a minimum of 20p for that to be added to their bonus level.

Once the game has been played in a Coral shop, the player has 14 days to also play on mobile or PC to unveil great additional bonuses. These start from ‘Wild Nights’ (additional shuffles), through to ‘Free Spins’ (10) and ‘Wild’ (substitutes symbols). When all of these additional features are unlocked the odds for winning are significantly advanced – and what’s not to like about that! To finish the ‘Wild Nights’ off the player needs to play again in the betting shop, and subsequently enjoy all the bonus features whenever the play in the future.

Is This The Future Of Slots Gaming?

It’s a very interesting question and fact is that only time will tell. While there’s no shortage of other games at Genting and similar casino sites, the Tiki Paradise project is a compelling one. After all it does make sense for online/retail casinos with firm partnerships with top developers to work together in order t foster brand and game loyalty among their customer base. That being said there’s still a wealth of alternative online casinos without a retail partnership in place where players who like to mix up their games will clearly still head towards.

It’s worth noting that Tiki Paradise is a very good slot indeed (five wheel/ten win line) and has likely been specifically selected for this project. Given the quality of the games that Playtech develop and their firm partnership with Coral, it is very likely that many more future releases of this caliber will be employed also into this style of omni gaming.
