The programme will offer awards totalling over £16m to empower individuals and organisations from around the world that are making a difference in their communities and pursuing their passions. The launch of the Creator Awards coincides with WeWork reaching 100,000 members worldwide.

The announcement was made on Monday, to coincide with Deputy Mayor Rajesh Agrawal’s visit to WeWork Sony Centre in Berlin. WeWork is already a leading supporter of both London’s and Berlin’s start-up communities with over 15,000 members across both cities in 12 collaborative workspaces in London and two in Berlin.
The company’s co-founder and CEO Adam Neumann said: “The United Kingdom is full of entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and small business owners who are innovating, nurturing their communities and inspiring others with work fueled by passion and purpose. Each one of them is a creator.
“Bringing the Creator Awards programme to London is our way of supporting the growth and continued success of the UK’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. We want to recognise, reward and financially support the brightest new ideas and best organizations coming out of the UK, as well as connect UK-based innovators with creators from all over the world.”
Individuals or organisations are now invited to apply for one of three possible awards open to the public from anywhere within the United Kingdom. All applicants will receive a free 1-year We Membership, giving them access to WeWork’s invaluable global member network and desk space at a WeWork two days a month. Of WeWork’s members, 70 per cent have collaborated and 50 per cent have done business together.
Selected finalists will be invited to pitch at an event in September of this year, judged by representatives from WeWork and London’s renowned startup community. Winners will take part in the Global Finals, on the 30th November in New York, joining finalists from Tel Aviv, Mexico City and several cities across the US.
