Sleeping in the day: It’s ok

Lots of people I meet who run their own businesses or work in high-powered jobs view ‘slacking off’ as a cardinal sin. They’d rather work round the clock and run themselves into the ground, even if it means that they’re not being effective, because that’s what you’re supposed to do.
I disagree. I often go for a nap in the middle of the day or play on the PlayStation for a bit. Because when you have a job that demands that you be on top of your game, and which puts you under a lot of pressure, you are going to have down time, even down days.
Anyway, if you’re not going to be productive there’s really no point actually working. So if you feel like lying on the sofa in your dressing gown watching This Morning till the end, do it and don’t feel bad.
It’s counterproductive to try to fight the down time because you’ll end up getting burnt out. The best thing you can do is give in and come back later or the next day, ready to take whatever the world throws at you.
