v, one of the UK’s leading independent charities, has launched a free mobile app that allows you to do just that: do good – no matter where you are. This cool new app delivers micro-volunteering opportunities to mobile phones that can be done on-demand and on-the-spot.
The app connects young people with volunteering opportunities while on the go and makes it easy for them to find opportunities, record what they do and share their experiences in a matter of seconds. Doing ‘good’ will be a case of click, click, click.
Whether it’s taking on the role as a cyber mentor to help beat bullying, giving advice to aspiring art students, or sharing tips on how to write a CV – v’s new mobile app makes it possible to volunteer in minutes, whether you’re at home or on the move.
There are over 6,000 volunteering opportunities available on vinspired.com – all of which will also appear on the vinspired app. Perfect timing for volunteering during the season of goodwill! Why not join a group of carol singers; or enter the ‘Santas on the run’ fun run?
Terry Ryall, chief executive at v, said “We believe in making volunteering as easy as possible for young people. This app will help youngsters stay connected with the opportunities they feel passionate about. Digital innovation has always been part of v’s DNA and we are continuously looking for ways to use this legacy to help our partners, customers and volunteers. We are thrilled that, through this app, more than 550 voluntary organisations will get their opportunities onto a mobile platform.”
The vinspired app can be downloaded from the iTunes store and will work on iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch (running iOS version 3.1 or higher). It is free to download.
