Who’s breathing fire now? Caan sued after Dragons’ Den deal went sour

Wright has engaged one of the leading lawyers, Dean Dunham, who has acted for Jude Law and Freddie Star to pursue a High Court action against Caan for defamation.

Following a period of ill health, brought about but the stress of this transaction and her business being facing problems due to the lack of investment she sought legal advice from Dunham, with lawyer confirming that he has issued a High Court writ demanding unspecified damages from Caan for defamation.

However as Dunham points out: ‘I can’t comment any further at present. The case is ongoing. The damages we are asking for have yet to be assessed.’

Caan could not be reached for his comments.

We would also like to make it clear that this action names James Caan. Fellow investor at the time Duncan Bannatyne is not involved in any way.
